- Leveraged Freedom Chair - IDEAS International Technology Award. The Leveraged Freedom Chair team invented a mobility aid that can morph between a standard wheelchair and a long-distance, lever-powered traveler, designed for people with disabilities in developing countries. In the wheelchair mode, it is small enough to use indoors. In the lever mode, it efficiently harnesses upper body power to cope with rugged terrain and poor road conditions.

Dr. David Berry ’00 PhD’05, Flagship Ventures
Interested in social enterprise and the business side of engineering? Come hear world renowned innovator, Dr. David Berry of Flagship Ventures present a talk on his experiences as a social entrepreneur.
David Berry is a Partner at Flagship Ventures, having joined Flagship in 2005 while completing his M.D. from Harvard Medical School. David was previously awarded a Ph.D. through the MIT Biological Engineering Division, where he studied the biological effects of complex sugars with advisors Professor Ram Sasisekharan and Professor Robert Langer. David also did his undergraduate work at MIT, graduating in 2000 Phi Beta Kappa and Sigma Xi, with a degree in brain and cognitive sciences. He was named as a member of the MIT Corporation - its Board of Trustees - in 2006. David's work has led to 11 peer-reviewed publications, over 20 patents and applications, as well as over twenty-five awards and honors including the prestigious Lemelson-MIT Student Prize in 2005 for invention and innovation. David was also named as the Innovator of the Year by Technology Review in its 2007 TR35 list of world's top 35 innovators under the age of 35.

- Wii/Guitar – Rob Morris Emotions are often conveyed through gesture. Instruments that respond to gestures offer musicians new, exciting modes of musical expression. This project gives musicians wireless, gestural-based control over guitar effects parameters. For example, with this system, a guitarist can manipulate any style of pitch bending (from subtle vibrato, to whole step bends, to two-octave dive bombs) just by moving the headstock of the guitar.

Go Cross Campus (GXC)
GXC Game Release 12-3pm on Student Street in Stata
Remember playing the MIT game Go Cross Campus that pitted student dorms against each other? Well the company is back to release our latest creation at TechWeek! The new platform (currently codenamed "Crossbow”) revolutionizes affinity-based gaming on the internet. Crossbow is an innovative new team-based social gaming platform on which GoCrossCampus (as well as other games we're currently building) will run. The platform will soon be opened up to developers as well, so that anyone can create team-based games online that for fun and for profit by directly tapping into the Crossbow infrastructure and community.

Matt Brimer, Go Cross Campus
Matthew O. Brimer is Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer of GoCrossCampus.
Matthew O. Brimer is a sociology and economics major at Yale University. Brimer is co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer of GoCrossCampus (GXC), a massively multiplayer social gaming platform.
GXC builds team-based “locally social online sports” for college campuses, corporations, and other affinity networks that revolve around your connections, locations and interests. Brimer currently serves at Vice President & Chief Innovation Officer of Yale Entrepreneurial Society, and has coordinated marketing efforts for Apple Inc., Osborne Recruitment in Ireland, and several on-campus student organizations. Brimer has also helped lead past startups, including an antique furniture procurement, auction and distribution business; an online audio time capsule community; and a centralized database for archiving transitional justice and human rights documents from around the world.
